Cycling through the woods near Venray

There are some beautiful nature reserves around Venray. This route strings them together like a pearl necklace. First you explore the Loobeekdal with its flowery meadows. Further on you drive through the forests of Kempkensberg and Testrik. From the saddle you can enjoy the wonderful scent of the many coniferous trees. In the Zwartwater nature reserve you cycle along a heathland, further on you pass through the next forest: the Helderse Duinen. You visit the village of Overloon, after which you explore the gently rolling coniferous forests of the Overloon Dunes. The Battle of Overloon took place in this area during the Second World War: a devastating tank battle. In Smakt you pass the Sint-Jozefkapel from 1699. You cycle briefly along the Maas bank, after which you cycle back to Pannenkoekenhuis De Perdstal via Geijsteren and Venray. Time for something tasty!
