Walking route through the nature of Venray

Put on your sturdy shoes for a varied walk through the nature of Venray. You walk through the forest to the rural countryside. As you walk on a dirt road, you look out over the meadows. From junction 27 you walk through the Loobeekdal. On the left you immediately see a small elevation in the landscape. This is the Weverslose Schans, a farmer's redoubt built in 2018. In the Middle Ages, such defenses were intended as a refuge against itinerant plundering bands. In the Loobeek valley you will also find flowery moist grasslands and small wetlands. Further on you walk through the Flatwater. This is a former shifting sand area that was planted with coniferous wood at the end of the eighteenth century. At the end of your route, a delicious meal awaits you at Pannenkoekenhuis De Perdstal.
