Walking route through the nature of Venray

Put on your sturdy shoes for a varied walk through the nature of Venray. You walk through the forest to the rural countryside. While you walk on an unpaved road, you look out over the meadows. From junction 27 you walk through the Loobeekdal. On the left you immediately see a small elevation in the landscape. This is the Weverslose Schans, a farmer's redoubt rebuilt in 2018. Such defenses were intended in the Middle Ages as a refuge from roaming plundering gangs. In the Loobeekdal you will also find flowery damp grasslands and small swamp forests. Further on you walk through the Vlakwater. This is a former drifting sand area that was planted with conifers at the end of the eighteenth century. At the end of your route you will be treated to a delicious meal at Pannenkoekenhuis De Perdstal.
