Description
The first three stages of the 2016 Tour of Italy will take place in the east of the Netherlands. This route is a shortened version of these stages, taking you past the most important places of the cycling tour. This way you can experience what it is like to cycle part of a cycling tour, but with fewer kilometers than the average official stage.
Veluwezoom National Park
The starting point of this 80 kilometer long cycle route is in the center of Apeldoorn. From here you cycle along the edge of the Veluwezoom National Park in the direction of Arnhem. This nature reserve consists of forests, heathlands, sand drifts and impressive estates. In this peaceful environment you can relax and enjoy the green nature. Along the way you cycle through small towns such as Loenen and Dieren.
De Hoge Veluwe National Park
After about 40 kilometers you will cycle on the edge of Arnhem. From here you cycle through De Hoge Veluwe National Park back to Apeldoorn. You can also relax in this nature reserve among all the natural beauty. Then it is extra fun to cycle into the pleasant center of Apeldoorn. End your bike tour here with a delicious dinner or take a seat on a terrace for a cool drink.
Giro d'Italia 2016
The Dutch stages of the Giro d\\\'Italia 2016 consist of a time trial in Apeldoorn , a stage that runs from Nijmegen to Arnhem and a stage that runs from Nijmegen back to Arnhem . Once the cyclists have completed these stages, they will fly to Italy to complete the rest of the Tour of Italy. This route is a combination of these stages, so that less seasoned recreational cyclists can also cycle past all the important places of the three Dutch stages.
