A beautiful round of Nijverdal

A feast for nature lovers, that's what you might call the Sallandse Heuvelrug. It is sometimes a bit of a climb, but the views over the beautiful landscape are a nice reward. One of the two remaining groups of grouse in the Netherlands still lives in this nature reserve. In the valley of the river Regge, time seems to have stood still. Just like in the hamlets where you still see old yards with their characteristic Saxon farms. In the Wierdense Veld you will find vast heathlands and raised bogs. It can still be old-fashioned quiet here, except when you see the flock of sheep passing by. After getting off, you will experience typical Twente hospitality at Bistro de Oale Stè.
