Walking near Soerendonk

Just outside Soerendonk, you can enjoy wonderful walks in the Kempen countryside. From your starting point, you immediately enter De Heide, a dry nature reserve dominated by conifers. Scots pines smell wonderful on a summer day. Here you'll also find the Putberg, a small hill in the middle of a heathland. Between meadows and fields, you can stroll leisurely towards the Strijper Aa valley, following this babbling brook for a while downstream. On one side lie the forests of the marshy Soerendonks Goor nature reserve. On the other side, you'll see meadows, and further on the horizon, the twin towers of Soerendonk's church. In this valley, it feels like stepping back a century in time, so beautiful and peaceful is it.
