Tour of Echten, Zuidwolde and Ruinerwold

The Groene Geschenk is the starting point of this beautiful route. You cycle along country roads to the Echtenerzand. In this quiet nature reserve it is wonderful to cycle past fragrant pines and heathlands. Further on you cycle through the protected village of Echten. Here you see a manor house that originally dates from the fifteenth century and a beautiful white villa. You cross the Hoogeveense Vaart, a waterway that was once used to transport peat. You pass through Ten Arlo where you see some beautiful old hall house farms. Via Zuidwolde you cycle further through the countryside. Via the Ossesluis you cross the canal again, after which you cycle via Koekange to the starting point.
