Tour Echten, Zuidwolde and Ruinerwold

The Green Gift is the starting point of this beautiful route. You drive to Echtenerzand on rural roads. In this quiet nature reserve it is wonderful to cycle past fragrant pines and heathlands. Further on you drive through the protected villagescape of Echten. Here you will see a manor that originally dates from the fifteenth century and a beautiful white villa. You cross the Hoogeveense Vaart, a watercourse that was once used to drain peat. You pass through Ten Arlo where you see some beautiful old hall farms. Via Zuidwolde you continue through the countryside. You cross the canal again via the Ossesluis, after which you cycle via Koekange to the starting point. Buitengoed Weerwille is another nice stop for coffee and homemade cakes.
