Veluwezoom route

This cycling route takes you past beautiful nature reserves such as Planken Wambuis and De Hoge Veluwe National Park. Both consist of forests, heathlands and sand drifts. This makes the nature reserves surprisingly different every season. To visit these parks, deviate from the route for a moment. Look out for animal tracks and you might see a deer or wild boar. 

During the route you will also pass a number of major attractions. Look for special animals in the Bush or the Ocean of the Royal Burgers Zoo or go back into Dutch history at the Dutch Open Air Museum. The castles and estates of wealthy families are common on the Veluwezoom, also known as Gelders Arcadia. Towards the end of the cycle route you will come across Park and Rosendael Castle. With a special collection of furniture, silver and porcelain, the castle gives a good idea of how people lived in the past. When taking a walk in the surrounding park, don't forget to take a look at the famous 'impostors'.
