Description
Erwin, the partner of owner Ronald Meijer of Gasterij de Thuishaven has lived in the area all his life. When he thinks of Thuishaven, he quickly thinks of the Braakman. De Braakman is a closed estuary. Until 1952, this estuary ensured that there were ports as far as Philippine and Boekhoute. Philippine was known for its mussels and Boekhoute for its shrimps. This route takes you from Thuishaven via the polders of Hoek to the polders around Philippine. Via 1 of the still present cobbled road we go via Boekhoute to Philippine. From there via Zutters Menne to the polders under Hoek and back to Terneuzen.
