The blue gold: Along the Rhine

The Rhine flows past picturesque towns, castles, museums and the nicest terraces. You will also find a wealth of cultural-historical heritage on the water.
Man-made structures to restrain the power of the water, but also to defend themselves against the enemy or to make clever use of the power of the water, can be admired while cycling this route.
This cycle route takes you past forts, castles, locks, pumping stations, mills and industry along the Rhine. Along the way you will pass many beautiful towns and villages.
Following the route is easy. The well-known green bicycle junction signs show the way. This route brochure indicates exactly which numbers should be followed. Although the route is circular, this route starts at Doorwerth Castle.
