La flow velo

On the Flow Velo route, enjoy a wonderful cycling adventure along the rivers and through the Charente, from the Perigord Vert to the Atlantic coast. This 290 km long course, which starts in Thiviers, runs through a picturesque, green landscape, where picturesque towns and villages follow each other in a relaxed atmosphere. Take your time, because a number of beautiful stops await you: Angouleme, the capital of the comic strip, Cognac, famous for its noble drink, Rochefort and its impressive naval arsenal... The bike ride will take you straight to the coast, from where you can continue your adventure as you wish: towards the islands of ile d\\\'Aix and ile d\\\'Oleron or La Rochelle.

The Flow Velo cycle route is fully signposted from Thiviers to the Atlantic Ocean. Plans are in place for the cycle route to run as close as possible to the Charente river. Read the description of the stages for the latest updates.

Train connections and stations on the Flow Velo Cycle Route

There are quite a few train stations on this route, but during rush hour it can be difficult to take your bike on the regional TER.

• Thiviers station (starting point): regional TER line Limoges - Perigueux with connection to the TER line Perigueux - Bordeaux
• Angouleme station : TER and TGV (Paris, Bordeaux, Poitiers) - regional TER line Angouleme - Chateauneuf-sur-Charente - Jarnac - Cognac - Saintes - Saujon - Royan
• Cognac station : regional TER line Angouleme - Chateauneuf-sur-Charente - Jarnac - Cognac - Saintes - Saujon - Royan
• Saintes station : regional TER line Angouleme - Chateauneuf-sur-Charente - Jarnac - Cognac - Saintes - Saujon - Royan; TER and Intercity to La Rochelle and Bordeaux
• Rochefort station (last station on this stage): regional TER and Intercity to La Rochelle, Saintes, Bordeaux
