The first three stages of the Giro d\\\'Italia 2016 will take place in the Netherlands. The cycling round will be kicked off with a time trial in Apeldoorn, followed by two stages in the vicinity of Arnhem and Nijmegen. Can't choose which of these stages you want to cycle? Then go for this route, in which all three stages are combined.
Nijmegen, Arnhem and Apeldoorn
The first part of this 165 kilometer bike ride takes you from Nijmegen to Arnhem. Two beautiful cities with a cozy center full of terraces to take a break. From Arnhem you cycle along the edge of the Veluwezoom National Park to Zutphen. You then make a trip to Lochem and then continue cycling to Deventer and Apeldoorn.
National Park De Hoge Veluwe
The last part of the route takes you from Apeldoorn to Arnhem straight through De Hoge Veluwe National Park. This nature reserve consists of shifting sand areas and extensive heaths with a number of fens. The start and end point of the route is at the atmospheric Café't Haantje in Nijmegen. Here you can end the tour in a festive way with a nice dinner or a well-deserved drink.
Day trip or several days? This cycling tour is a combination of three stages of the Tour of Italy:
the time trial in Apeldoorn ,
the second stage and
the third stage . The different stages have been shortened for this, but you will cycle through the area where these stages also take you. It is possible to cycle this tour within a day, but then you will be on the bike all day. Is the tour a bit too long for you to complete in one day? Then you can of course also spread the trip over several days.
