Sneek is best known as one of the Frisian towns on the route of the Elfstedentocht. However, you can also enjoy walking through the historic center and the green suburbs. The old center of Sneek enjoys a protected cityscape for a reason. There are many old mansions and shophouses on the Kleinzand, some of which were built around 1790 in the Louis XVI style. One of the oldest sights is the Martinikerk, which originally dates from the eleventh century. In the centuries-old bell house next to the church, there are still two centuries-old bells from 1466 and 1543.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
