Tour of Sneek and the Sneekermeer

Terherne (or Terhorne) is located on the corner of a twelfth-century land reclamation. This is where the children's book series De Kameleon is said to have been set. You drive along the Sneekermeer for a while. Get some fresh air, while looking out over waving reed collars and the rippling water. In Goingarijp you can admire the church building from 1770, there is a bell tower next to it. At the Langweerderwielen you pass the Sweachmermolen from 1782. Langweer enjoys a protected village view. This beautiful waterway village was only accessible by water until 1856. At Hotel & Restaurant Stadsherberg Sneek you can enjoy something tasty. The old centre of Sneek also enjoys a protected townscape. There are many old mansions on the Kleinzand, some of which were built around 1790 in the Louis XVI style.
