Walking along the Berkel near the Ehzerwold

In the rural area of Almen you can take a walk along the Berkel river. You will walk on unpaved paths, so make sure you wear sturdy shoes. As you walk along the rippling water, you look out over meadows and fields. You can fully enjoy the peace and natural beauty here, because you only share the path with other hikers. After you cross the Berkel for the first time, you walk across the De Velhorst estate. The manor originally dates from the seventeenth century. The route takes you along the Berkel again, after which you finally walk through the park forest around the De Ehze manor. The current English-style villa dates from 1919. The route ends with a coffee and something tasty at Hotel Landgoed Ehzerwold.
