Past beautiful half-timbered houses in South Limburg

Your route starts at Hotel de Plank. In Bommerig, Camerig and Eperheide you will see monumental half-timbered houses from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Along a branch of the Geul you will also pass the Volmolen. This water mill was built in 1882 for grinding corn. Ulvend is a different story: this hamlet is located exactly on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium. In Margraten you drive past the St. Margarita Church, a characteristic church built in marlstone whose tower dates from the fourteenth century. In Mheer you will pass the seventeenth-century St. Lambertus Church. Behind this stands the fourteenth-century Mheer Castle. Gulpen's striking church tower was once part of St. Peter's Church. The medieval church tower originally also served as a defense structure, given the thick walls of one and a half to two meters.
