Experience a day of natural and cultural beauty with this route between Woerden and Bodegraven. First you explore the rich history of Woerden. Here you pass Woerden Castle, dating from 1417. The Windmill is a flour mill from 1755. Then you cycle along the banks of the Oude Rijn, the river that once formed the northern border of the Roman Empire. Fort Wierickerschans is a nice sight from 1673. Bodegraven was once an important link in the cheese trade. Here and there you can still see old warehouses that remind us of this time. At BUCK Bar Kitchen you can enjoy a terrace before you drive through the polders to Zwammerdam. Finally, you cycle along the Meije, looking out to the left over the foothills of the Nieuwkoopse Plassen.
