Description
A beautiful walk of about 2 hours (8.1 km) with the start and end point Theetuin Overleek.
This walk starts at the Theetuin Overleek in beautiful Overleek and continues over the Noordmeerpolder (part of the Badkuiproute), between the sheep and cows over the meadow and through Broek in Waterland along the nature reserve to end again at the Theetuin. In Broek in Waterland you also walk along the Havenrak: around this remnant of the Broekermeer, which was drained in 1628, you can admire wooden houses in 17th century Waterland style. This route is also ideal to combine with a picnic basket from Theetuin Overleek.
Because the start and end point are located at the Tea Garden Overleek, you can also park your bicycles or car here and of course enjoy a delicious piece of homemade cake with coffee/tea or lunch before or after the walking tour. This route contains part of the'Bathtub route\\\'.
The Badkuip route is a circular walk on the grass dike of the drained Noordmeer, a deep-lying polder that is strongly reminiscent of an empty bathtub. The old land on the other side of the ring dike is an open peat meadow area, bordered by reeds. Part farmland, part nature reserve. From the Ringdijk you have a beautiful view of the nature reserve'Het Varkensland\\\'. This reserve is an Eldorado for meadow birds.
The part of the Badkuip route is not accessible during the breeding season from March 15 to June 15.
