Description
On a tree-lined avenue you cycle past a farm with a striking old building. This gatehouse is the only remnant of the former Harslo castle that stood here from the fourteenth century until 1814. Further on you can enjoy the beautiful buildings in the historic centre of Wageningen. You cross the Rhine by ferry, after which you cycle along the floodplains for a few kilometres and cross the river again. Then you cycle along the Valleikanaal. Between junctions 11 and 25 you cycle along the Binnenveldse Hooilanden. This relatively new nature reserve is home to one of the largest blue grasslands in the Netherlands.
