Tour around Ede

It is wonderful to cycle around Ede. First of all, you can get a breath of fresh air while you drive through the Gelderse Vallei. Further on you cycle through the Edese Bos, a nature reserve with oaks, beech and conifers. You have beautiful views of the Edese and Ginkelse Heide. In August the heather plants bloom: the soil turns completely purple! After a few kilometers, the heathland gives way to long avenues that cut through the woods of some former estates. In Bennekom you cycle past the monumental Alexander Church, the oldest part of which dates from the eleventh century. A little later you pass the former Harslo castle, which stood here from the fourteenth century until 1814. The gatehouse is the only remainder of the castle.
