Tour of the colorful splendor of the Bulb Region

Your route starts at De Veense Bukker. In the Bulb Region it is like cycling through a painting, with all those bright colors. Spring is heralded here with the blooming of crocuses, after which tulips, daffodils and hyacinths give the area a beautiful hue. Gladiolus, dahlias and carnations provide a colorful late summer. In addition to flowers, you will also see many monumental buildings, churches and polder mills while cycling. The Zemelmolen dates from 2003, it replaces an earlier example from the eighteenth century that was lost due to arson. You will also pass the Lisserpoelmolen, a national monument from 1676. Just below Voorhout is the Hoop Doet Leven, which drains the Elsgeest polder. This mill from 1783 originally stood in Rijnsburg, but has been at its current location since 1999.
