The route starts in the Gelderland village of Hengelo at Restaurant Eetcafé Jansen & Jansen. In this cozy catering facility you can drink or eat something. At the Steintjesweide you can see the monumental Bleekhuisje from 1750. The route takes you through the Kruisbergse Bossen, a nature reserve that is located on 10,000-year-old river dunes. You also drive through Landgoed Hoenderkamp, where forests, fields and meadows alternate. Here you will experience the typical tranquility that still prevails in the Achterhoek, so that you can completely clear your head. On the edge of the Kruisbergse Bossen you will come to the Kruisbergseweg along L71, a location from the Liberation Route. Here you will learn more about the bombing of Doetinchem that took place in March 1945. A little further on you pass the Wittebrinkse Molen, a flour mill from 1889.
