From Bennekom to the Betuwe

From Recreatiepark De Dikkenberg you can take a varied trip to the Betuwe. You cover the first kilometers in the woods on the edge of the Veluwe. You cross the Rhine on a bicycle and pedestrian ferry. You will pass the monumental Brickworks Randwijk GSS and the Gelders Narrow Gauge Museum. In Heteren you pass the Betuwe War Museum. In the countryside it is nice to cycle along the meadows and along the babbling water of the Linge. Stop for a moment to take a look at the village church in Valburg: the oldest parts date from the eleventh century. The church in Hemmen is also a sight to see. Just below Waingen you cross the Rhine again. Back at De Dikkenberg it is time for a meal in Eetcafé De Schaapskooi.
