Cycling through Anholt, Isselburg and Gendringen

From Camping't Zwaantje you can experience a beautiful bike ride in the German-Dutch border area. You will find plenty of natural beauty and cultural history here. Like in Anholt, the first town on your route. Here you will pass an impressive moated castle whose history dates back to the twelfth century. A museum has been opened in the castle. Here you will find the largest private collection of paintings in North Rhine-Westphalia, including Dutch masters such as Rembrandt. From junction 55 you cycle along the Aa-strang, a river that forms the border between the Netherlands and Germany. Isselburg is a pleasant town located on the Oude IJssel. You drive back to the Netherlands through a mix of forest and grasslands. Here too it is wonderfully quiet cycling on car-free roads. At't Zwaantje you can continue to enjoy the Achterhoek.
