The accompanying church dates from the thirteenth century.
Language border
The Tjonger river forms the language border between Frisian and Low Saxon, which is spoken south of this watercourse. It is fun to travel for miles in the river valley. Here you drive through a varied landscape of grasslands, small-scale forests and heathlands. It is wonderfully quiet here, so you can completely clear your head.
