Description

It's nice to pedal in the Utrechtse Waarden. Driving over winding dikes and dead straight roads, you have views over the typical Dutch landscape of orchards, wooded canals, watercourses and narrow polders. There are many ancient buildings in this region, such as Harmelen and Kamerik, which enjoy a protected village view. Oudewater is the oldest city in the Green Heart. You can see here, among other things, the fifteenth-century St. Michael's Church. In Woerden you can admire, among other things, the fourteenth-century Petruskerk and the old town hall from 1501. The Castle of Woerden is a castle that originally dates from 1415. Start and end point of this route is Kockengen. The name of this former mining village comes from Cocagne, the French name for Land of Delight. At Abrona Kunst & Koffie you can enjoy a well-deserved and cozy terrace.
