Cycling in the Utrechtse Waarden

It is nice to keep pedaling in the Utrechtse Waarden. Driving over winding dikes and straight roads you have views over the typical Dutch landscape of orchards, wooded areas, waterways and narrow polders. In this region there are many centuries-old buildings, such as in Harmelen and Kamerik that enjoys a protected village view. Oudewater is the oldest city in the Groene Hart. Here you can see, among other things, the fifteenth-century St. Michael's Church. In Woerden you can admire, among other things, the fourteenth-century St. Peter's Church and the old town hall from 1501. The Castle of Woerden is a fortress that originally dates from 1415. The start and end point of this route is Kockengen. The name of this former reclamation village comes from Cocagne, the French name for Cockaigne.
