Ruurlo and the authentic Achterhoek

The Achterhoek is an ideal region if you want to switch back for a day. Here you drive through a scenic landscape of fields, winding streams, hedgerows and forests. You regularly see picturesque farms. In Zieuwent is the Sint-Werenfridus Church from 1899, which is also called the cathedral of the Achterhoek. Further on you drive through some estates and through Boswachterij Ruurlo. You pass Ruurlo Castle. You can visit this moated castle because it houses a museum dedicated to modern realism. You then cycle through the heart of Ruurlo, a picturesque village where you can admire some beautiful monumental buildings. Around junction 26 you cycle along the Baakse Beek, a watercourse that originates in the Korenburgerveen and flows into the IJssel. The route ends at Skik & Zo Eten & Drinken.
