Tour of Ootmarsum and the Dinkelland

After a night's sleep at Groepsaccommodatie De Schure & Groepsaccommodatie you jump on your bike. First you cycle through the Springendal, a picturesque nature reserve that is also called the 'Garden of the Netherlands'. The Dinkelland is a region in the east of Twente where cycling is fantastic. You drive through an old ash landscape, through beautiful nature reserves and of course through the picturesque Ootmarsum. This is one of the most beautiful towns in Twente. One of the first churches in Twente was built here around 770. The town had a flourishing trade during the Middle Ages, but saw industrialization pass it by. And you can see that: Ootmarsum has managed to retain its historic character. You will see the Oude Hengel Mill, a flour mill from 1872.
