Tour like a king in Twente

Your route starts at Hotel Restaurant Wapen Van Delden. Delden is mentioned as early as 1036 and there was a church there as early as 1118. In 1333, the small fortified city, which had two city gates, was granted city rights. Twickel Estate is famous for its lush gardens and park. Special for the Netherlands: in the orangery you can admire a collection of citrus trees. You can recognize the farms that belong to the estate by their white shutters with black edges. In the former fortified town of Delden you will discover plenty of remnants of the past. On the Oelerbeek you pass the Noordmolen, dating from 1325. This was once a double water mill, but now only the mill with which oil is pressed from rape and linseed remains. The flour mill that once stood opposite the oil mill was demolished in 1831.
