In the Achterhoek you will still find centuries-old cultural landscapes, babbling brooks and beautiful old farms and mills. This route takes you through the green surroundings of Aalten, Dinxperlo and Bocholt, Germany.
Historical Aalten
In the village of Aalten you can see the rich history in the beautiful buildings. The center around the old market therefore enjoys a protected village view. Just east of Aalten you drive through Walfort. This old estate is intersected by the brook the Boven-Slinge, and there is still a manor from the fifteenth century on the water. A little further on you pass through the Loohuis, an old farm landscape consisting of meadows, hedgerows and Scots pines that are more than a hundred years old.
Explore Dinxperlo
You hardly notice it, but from Suderwick, Germany you suddenly drive into Dinxperlo, which is close to the border. A nice opportunity to view this nationally known village from the saddle. You will pass two more old flour mills: the Teunismolen from 1822 and the Wenninkmolen from 1860. After this beautiful long route through the scenic landscape of the Achterhoek you will enjoy a meal in Restaurant Herbergh d\\\'Olde Marckt with food and drinks.
