Walk Lochem, Berkel and Lochemse Berg

From Lochem you can take a varied walk. Put on sturdy shoes, because the route partly runs on unpaved (forest) paths! First you walk a long way along the Berkel. This river originates in Germany and flows into the IJssel in Zutphen. It is a wonderfully quiet walk along the shore, ideal to clear your mind. If you cross the Berkel, you will see De Cloese. This country house originally dates from 1520. Just past junction W9 you will come across the sixteenth-century Landgoed De Heest. The country house has been renovated and looks less old than it originally was. Then you discover the woods on the Lochemse Berg. What a silence! Back in Lochem you walk through the beautiful old city center. At Brasserie Restaurant Kawop you can enjoy delicious food.
