Walk Lochem, Berkel and Lochemse Berg

From Lochem you will take a varied walk. Put on sturdy shoes, because the route partly runs over unpaved (forest) paths! First you walk a good distance along the Berkel. This river rises in Germany and flows into the IJssel in Zutphen. It is wonderfully quiet walking along the bank, ideal to clear your mind. When you cross the Berkel, you will see De Cloese. This country house originally dates from 1520. Just past junction W9 you will come across the sixteenth-century Landgoed De Heest. The country house has been renovated and looks less old than it originally was. Then you will discover the forests on the Lochemse Berg. What silence!
