Description

Your route starts at Restaurant Watermolen Bels. The Bels Mill is a beautiful place in the Mosbeek Valley. The mill is a real cultural-historical monument. The building initially served as a paper factory, later as a chicory factory. Then grain was ground. The Galgenberg is an almost 70 meter high hill that owes its name to a somewhat obscure history: there was a gallows on the top in the Middle Ages. As a warning, but also to carry out punishments. The Mander Circles are the largest landscape art project in the Netherlands. These two round fields were created in the 1930s by textile manufacturer Jannink. According to him, farmers could work better on a round plot because they did not have to turn their machine.
