The beautiful Kop van Overijssel

The Kop van Overijssel is one of the most beautiful cycling areas in the Netherlands. You drive through a natural landscape where water plays an important role. You also drive a bit along the foot of the De Woldberg hill, which, with its 26 meters height, forms a special appearance in the otherwise flat country.

Giethoorn
Giethoorn is without a doubt the cultural-historical pearl on your route. This picturesque village is known as Venice of the North thanks to its many bridges and waterways. You will see dozens of characteristic national monuments here. Much traffic takes place on quiet roads and over the water, via so-called punts that - just like the gondolas in Venice - are propelled with a punt boom. National Park

Waterways dominate the area around Giethoorn. swamp forests and swampy meadows the image. You drive a bit through two beautiful nature reserves that together form a national park: De Weerribben and De Wieden. The legend of the Woldberg
The Woldberg is an old moraine from the Ice Age. According to a legend, a boat sank at the foot of the Woldberg during a flood of the Zuiderzee. A gentleman would have wanted to take his gold to safety with this boat. The gold was never found. There is a free viewing tower at the top of the Woldberg.
