To survive
During the war, about 6,500 planes crashed in the Netherlands. Four hundred of them above the Achterhoek. The crew has already left the aircraft in panic: an exciting leap in the dark. First the free fall, then the floating search for an apparently safe landing spot. But then the survival really begins...

Trust no one
It is the night of 7 to 8 February 1945 when the Germans hit an English Lancaster aircraft. The six crew members jump overboard in the dark. Two of them, Stan Hanson and Geoff Cheeseman, are placed via via with the Te Lindert family on the'Bosman\\\' farm. There the flags will go out on March 31 and there will be a festive breakfast in the farmer's kitchen. Only at that moment do they discover that they are not the only people in hiding. Ignorant of each other's presence, they sat together all that time in and around the farmyard. You can't be too careful!

Crash spot
On February 4, 1944, an American bomber crashed here. The aircraft, which hit above Germany and is now burning, is grounded by the pilot in the Netherlands. The rest of the crew has already jumped overboard in Germany. Shortly after the crash, the local fire department arrives. One of them discovers a bag left in the plane by the Americans. Because the bag may contain crucial information for the Germans, he takes it home. Not knowing at that time that the owner will report 40 years later.
