Tour of IJssel, Didam and Rhine

This route takes you through the region around Zevenaar. First you drive your legs loose along the floodplains of the IJssel. You pass the Lathumse Plas recreation area, after which you cycle into the Liemers. Here it is wonderful to travel for miles through a scenic landscape of fields, meadows, small-scale forest and streams. Just before Didam you pass Havezate De Luynhorst. Further on it is time for a refreshment. Get off at Plok and enjoy a cozy terrace in the food garden. Further on you pass Camphuysen, a manor of which the oldest parts date from the fourteenth century. From the dike you look out to the left over the Rijnstrangen: a nature reserve of open water, reed marsh and grasslands around an old arm of the Rhine. L44 is also located here: a listening point from the Liberation Route.
