The Reestdal is a beautiful and mysterious piece of nature on the border between Overijssel and Drenthe. The river Reest winds its way through this region where flowery meadows, old hedgerows, ash trees, heaths and forests alternate. This route is definitely worth exploring.

In the Reestdal it feels like time has stood still. Between the hay meadows, fields, heaths and forests you can experience farm life on authentic farms. You will find small-scale landscapes such as at Oud-Avereest and IJhorst-De Wijk. Impressive estates including De Havixhorst and Dickninge complete the picture. Here your mind wanders to times gone by and you experience pure peace and space.
