The Reestdal is a beautiful and mysterious piece of nature on the border between Overijssel and Drenthe. The Reest river meanders its way through this region where flowery meadows, old hedgerows, ash trees, heathlands and forests alternate. This route is definitely worth exploring.

In the Reestdal it feels as if time has stood still. You can experience farm life on authentic farms among the meadows, fields, heaths and forests. You will find small-scale landscapes such as Oud-Avereest and IJhorst-De Wijk. Impressive estates including De Havixhorst and Dickninge complete the picture. Here your thoughts wander to times long past and you experience pure peace and space.
