National Landscape Winterswijk offers an ideal backdrop for a day of enjoying peace and natural beauty. Here you will find a mix of ash trees, grasslands, hedgerows and streams. You will also see old Saxon farms here and there. After you have loosened your legs, you make a shortcut through Germany. It is wonderfully quiet here to cycle on car-free roads. Just before junction 35 you drive through the Burlo-Vardingholter Venn. Together with the adjacent Dutch Wooldse Veen, this forms a nature reserve in which, in addition to forest, wet heathland and raised peat occur. Back in the Netherlands you will pass through the Bekendelle nature reserve. Further on is Berenschots Mill from 1652. Finally, you drive through the former textile city of Winterswijk where you cycle through the renovated Freedom Park. The route ends at Holiday Park Hofparken Wiltershaar.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
