The Winterswijk National Landscape offers an ideal setting for a day of enjoying peace and natural beauty. Here you will find a mix of ash trees, grasslands, hedgerows and streams. You will also see old Saxon farms here and there. After you have loosened up your legs, you will make a detour through Germany. It is wonderfully quiet cycling here on car-free roads. Just before junction 35 you will cycle through the Burlo-Vardingholter Venn. Together with the adjacent Dutch Wooldse Veen, this forms a nature reserve in which, in addition to forest, wet heathland and raised bog occur. Back in the Netherlands you will pass through the Bekendelle nature reserve. Further on is the Berenschots Mill from 1652. Finally, you will cycle through the former textile city of Winterswijk where you will cycle through the renovated Vrijheidspark. The route ends at Vakantiepark Hofparken Wiltershaar.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
