Kop van Drenthe: Surprisingly Beautiful!

Your cyclist's heart will beat faster in the Kop van Drenthe. You drive through a varied environment full of nature and old villages. You will also pass the beautiful Museum Nienoord. You drive through a wide low moor area around the Leekstermeer. You can see many streams flowing through this basin between the higher Drenthe sandy soils and Groningen clay soils, such as the Lettelberterdiep. Just below Roden you cycle through Landgoed Mensinge, which is also called Drenthe in a nutshell because of its characteristic landscape. A museum is located in the centuries-old manor house. After your bike ride you can relax at the cozy Hotel Eetcafé Zalencentrum Onder de Linden. At Leek in Groningen you will pass the beautiful Nienoord. This country estate originated in the sixteenth century as a reclamation project in a vast peat area. Now it is a stylish noble estate with a beautiful deposit from 1524.
