The old Drenthe esdorp landscape

De Brink in Esdorp Roden is a picture. You can see here, among other things, the Winsinghhof at number 10, a farm from 1672. The nave of the Catharina Church was built in the fourteenth century. Just above Lieveren you cycle through the ancient Lieverder Noordbos. The deciduous forest is a rarity in Drenthe. Close to cycling junction 71 you will find Hunebed D1, a large and almost complete hunebed in the Noorderduinen. The place Steenbergen owes its name to this'mountain of stones\\\'. You drive back via the Zuursche Duinen, a nature reserve consisting of heathland, coniferous forest, shifting sand and fens. This will take you back to your starting point, Hotel Cafe Restaurant Onder de Linden.
