Route Slot Zuylen and Castle de Haar

You start the route at hotel Flora Batava. You go in the direction of Breukelen and then you see an old castle. Nijenrode University, Nijenrode was built in 1275 and now serves as a business university. The castle was demolished in 1481 and 1511 and rebuilt between 1632 and 1642. You then cycle through the beautiful village of Maarssen and pass the Vechtestein country estate. If you continue cycling you will approach Slot Zuylen. Slot Zuylen is one of the oldest castles on the Vecht. The castle was built in 1510. The current function of the castle is now a museum. You then cycle towards the Maximapark . The Maximapark is a city park, named after princess, later queen Maxima. In addition, the Maxima Park is approximately 300 hectares in size, almost as large as the Central Park in New York. You then cycle through the village of Vleuten to Kasteel De Haar. De Haar Castle is the largest castle in the Netherlands. The castle was built from 1892 in neo-Gothic style. The castle also contains an extensive area in which, in addition to the main building, there are associated gardens and buildings such as a chapel. You continue your route to Flora Batava.
