The rural beauty around Lochem

You can enjoy cycling around Lochem through a rolling scenic landscape. You drive past a number of manors and you visit Markelo, a cozy Twente village that is rich in beautiful old buildings and farms. Lochem is a pleasant town with a rich history. Just past Lochem you drive past the old Huis Ampsen. The history of this building dates back to 1105. Five hundred years later the house was destroyed by the Spanish, but quickly rebuilt. In pleasant Markelo you have plenty of time to take a break and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
