The project'Along Pilgrim Roads to Scherpenheuvel\\\' wants to make the network of ancient pilgrimage roads to Scherpenheuvel recognizable again. On the basis of a participation process in various municipalities, we reconstructed the old pilgrim roads together with the population.

Did you know that the pilgrimage committee of Attenhoven is the oldest pilgrimage committee still in existence? Since 1631 they go on an annual pilgrimage to Scherpenheuvel. This tradition arose because the village was hit by a plague epidemic that year. This was so rampant that a quarter of the then population died.
You start at Brasserie De Rietgors and then pass the Sint-Pieters-Bandenkerk, the traditional starting point of the pilgrimage.
