Tour of Brouwershaven and Grevelingenmeer

Your route starts at Hofstede Villetta. On the dike along the Grevelingenmeer you can get a breath of fresh air while enjoying the view over the water. This was once an arm of the North Sea, but now the Grevelingen is the largest saltwater lake in Western Europe. Since the closure, some sandbanks have turned into islands, popular stopping places for numerous bird species. For example, you see Stampersplaat and Dwars in de Weg. Brouwershaven is a gem on this beautiful water. The old city center within the former fortress walls enjoys a protected cityscape. Walk into the center to grab a terrace, it's worth strolling around here. There is a nice atmosphere with the old buildings and the boats in the marina. Holiday feeling at its best!
