Tour of the Huize Dorth estate

Today you will discover the Dortherbos, the estate of Huize Dorth. You can see the villa through the trees. The original castle was already mentioned in the twelfth century. It then stood close to the current location of the Dorther mill. The castle was later rebuilt about 200 meters further south, but this too has not survived the ravages of time. It was rebuilt as Huize Dorth. In the Dortherbos you walk along ponds, bridges and avenues, a fairytale world. Stinsenplants such as daffodils, dalwort and wood anemones complete the look. A water-rich area, thanks to the Dortherbeek that flows past it. It is the habitat of birds, rabbits and deer - who knows, you might even spot a pheasant or kingfisher there.
