Tour of Deventer and Bathmen

Your route starts at Restaurant BRAS-KOER. After a delicious meal, you step onto the saddle of your steel horse completely refreshed. You will soon pass through Bathmen. In the old heart of this village you will see some beautiful buildings, such as the fifteenth-century village church. Then you drive a bit along the Schipbeek. This side stream of the IJssel made water transport possible between Deventer and the town of Alstätte in Germany. You drive through the woods to Epse, and a little later you cycle into the beautiful Hanseatic city of Deventer. Time seems to have stood still in the Bergkwartier. You will find many monuments there, including the Bergkerk. This Romanesque cross basilica is located on an old river dune and was founded by German Premonstratensians. You drive back to Lettele along the Overijssels Canal.
