Tour of Zutphen and Gorsselse Heide

From Lettele you will make a beautiful long bike ride through the Achterhoek. The route takes you many kilometers on car-free roads, so that you can enjoy the natural beauty at your leisure. You will also pass through some nice places, such as Bathmen where you can visit the fifteenth-century village church. After crossing the Twenthekanaal, you will cycle into Almen. A little later you will arrive in Zutphen. During the Hanseatic period, Zutphen flourished due to the river trade in herring, butter, beer and wood. In the center, striking towers and stately merchant houses still determine the streetscape. Further on you will cycle over the Gorsselse Heide, a nature reserve where mainly conifers grow. At junction 29 you will cycle past Kasteel Dorth. After getting off, you can enjoy a delicious meal at Restaurant BRAS-KOER.
