Extensive quiet forests, a picturesque stream valley and beautiful panoramas: this long hike takes you through the beautiful surroundings of the Lemelerberg and the Earl Achterbroek. Take provisions with you, because you walk almost the entire route through nature!

Nature reserve Lemelerberg
A hundred years ago, the Lemelerberg was an area eaten bare by sheep. When the herd disappeared, the mountain slowly grew thick with forest. To preserve the remaining heathlands, a herd of Veluwe heath sheep has been grazing there since the 1980s. So that you still have beautiful panoramas from the almost eighty meter high Lemelerberg. Is it a bit foggy? The whimsical shapes you see are juniper bushes, not white weaves.

You also walk on the ancient church path between Giethmen and Ommen. The inhabitants of Giethmen used to walk this path to the church twice a Sunday. They crossed the river Regge via the charming drawbridge, an icon. On the 34 meter high Besthmenerberg there is a lookout tower that offers you a majestic view of the area. The route ends in the middle of the woods at Group accommodation De Wolfskuil. You can stay here and enjoy nature.
