Discover the Vresselse Bos

A surprising walk awaits you in the middle of the Meierij of's-Hertogenbosch. With this route you will discover the unknown and therefore quiet Vresselse Bos.

Production forest
When you walk through the Vressels Bos now, it is difficult to imagine that there was hardly a tree to be seen here in the last century. The area then consisted mainly of sand drifts and heathlands. The 250 hectare forest was planted in the 1920s on a drifting sand ridge. You mainly walk between fragrant Scots pines, but you also see oaks and beech trees. There are also some wet heathlands in the forest.

Old revival
In the middle of the forest you pass the Hazenputten. This old fen is a lovely spot for a picnic. You might spot one of the many birds that nest in the forest, such as a yellowhammer, hawk or black woodpecker. In the area of Vressel, an authentic herd walk, you walk through an old small-scale landscape of meadows, fields, trees, hedges and shrubs. After your walk, enjoy a drink and meal at the Vresselse Hut.
