Tour of Markelo, Holten and Sallandse Heuvelrug

Enjoy an extensive lunch at Landhuishotel and Bistro Herikerberg, so that you have enough energy for this beautiful bike ride. First you drive to Markelo, a cozy town where you can admire the Martinuskerk from 1840, among other things. You then drive through the gently sloping bocage landscape to the De Borkeld nature reserve. How wonderfully quiet it is here! In Holten you pass the village church from 1832 with its striking white tower. Then you drive through the vast forests of National Park Sallandse Heuvelrug. You make a small climb up the Haarlerberg. Be sure to get off at least once along the way, so that you can enjoy the view over the heath at your leisure. You descend through the woods to De Borkeld. After getting off you probably still want something to eat!
