From Vechtdal to tranquil Salland

In the Overijssel Vechtdal, the Vecht winds its way through a beautiful, authentic landscape. Along the river, you look out over untouched forests, hedgerows and meadows. Dalfsen is also located on the water. Stop off here at Brasserie De Zeven Deugden with its lovely ice cream parlour! You will discover the country estate village of Vilsteren: almost the entire village is part of the estate. Huize Vilsteren, the church and the windmill are the eye-catchers here. Around Vilsteren, you will find traces of the old river landscape: hidden in the greenery are dammed river bends or meanders. Rechteren Castle is the crown jewel of the Overijssel estates. The oldest part, the 25-metre-high residential tower, dates from 1315. Outside the Vechtdal, you will also drive through the Salland countryside. In this coulisse landscape, you will see many active farms.
